| The Housing Authority of Clayton County (HACC) serves
a variety of local organizations and residents through numerous programs.
Originally intended as a financing vehicle for low to moderate income
housing developments, the Authority has grown into an organization
which now administers thousands of dollars each year on behalf of
the Clayton County Board of Commissioners.
The
HACC does not administer public housing or Section 8 housing
vouchers. These housing services are provided by the Jonesboro
Housing Authority, who can be reached at 770-478-7282.
The Authority administers one major program on behalf
of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners. The Restoration
Rehabilitation Grant (RRG) Program is a U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) program that awards grants to correct
deteriorated conditions which constitute threats to the health and
safety of the occupants. For more detailed information about this
program, including Frequently Asked Questions, visit the web page
specific to the RRG program.
A second program, the Housing
Urgency Grant (HUG) Program, uses in-house funds to provide
assistance to low income homeowners needing emergency repairs to
their homes. For further information in regards to this program,
visit the HUG program page.
In addition, the Authority serves as a vehicle for
financing local developers who wish to build, maintain, or revitalize
affordable housing in Clayton County through bond
financing. More detailed information can be found at its specific
page.
