Who We Are

A five-member Board of Commissioners governs the HACC. The members of the HACC board are appointed by the Clayton County Board of Commissioners to voluntarily serve five-year terms as policy makers for this organization. The Board is responsible for approving all bond resolutions, as well as establishing funding levels for programs sponsored by the HACC.

The 2008 Board of Commissioners are:

  • Carlo Musso, M.D.— Chairman
  • James Searcy — Vice Chairman
  • Robert Walker — Secretary
  • Alita Knox — Treasurer
  • Herbert Adams Jr., Esq. — Board Member

The HACC Board has hired a full time staff to handle the day-to-day operations of the Authority which includes an executive director, rehabilitation program coordinator, and support staff. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Authority, as well as all personnel matters for the Authority. The Rehabilitation Program Coordinator for the Authority is responsible for the administration of both the RRG and HUG programs. The support staff consists of the bookkeeper and an administrative assistant.

What We Do

The HACC is focused on rehabilitation of low to moderate income households, providing grants and support to organizations that serve housing needs in Clayton County. Through a number of programs—some federally funded, others funded through the Housing Authority’s other operations—the Authority continues to widen the scope of its mission while still maintaining a commitment to better housing for Clayton County citizens.

Unlike similar organizations, the HACC does not administer public housing or Section 8 housing vouchers. The administrator of public housing & Section 8 vouchers in Clayton County is the Jonesboro Housing Authority. The office can be reached at 770-478-7282.
